Donald George Bernard died Dec. 20, 2020 at the age of 85 in Long Beach, Washington. Donald was born May 6, 1935, in Los Angeles, California.
Don passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones, due to complications with congestive heart failure.
Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Annette Bernard; his children, son Donald Bernard and wife, Vickee; daughter, Sharon Law and husband Casey; daughter, Carole Bernard; grandchildren, Jeb Law, Annie Law, and Anthony Barajas. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Brooks and husband Tom, along with many nieces and nephews.
Don graduated from Washington High in Los Angeles, Calif., where he met his loving wife, Annette Bernard. Don was an electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW. He was employed by Los Angeles County as an Electrician, from where he retired. Don spent most of his life in California until he and Annette moved to Long Beach, Washington in August 2019. He loved living in Washington and enjoyed the slower pace, beauty, and friendliness of living in a small town.
Don’s hobbies included dirt bike racing and deep-sea fishing. When he wasn’t working, enjoying hobbies, or his family, he was working on projects around the house or rebuilding cars. The motto in the family was - if Don can’t fix it, it can’t be fixed. He loved his family and will be sadly missed.
