Tami Lynn Belisle

March 10, 1958 — November 26, 2018

Tami L. Belisle, age 60, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 26th, 2018 at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland.

There will be a Celebration of Life and Community Potluck in Tami’s honor Sunday, December 16th beginning at 12 Noon at the Elks Lodge in Long Beach.

Tami was born in Longview on March 10th 1958 to Vernon and Dorothy (Hastings) Baker- O’Connor.  In her younger years, Tami lived on Puget Island on a houseboat with her family.  She would tell stories of the family water skiing right off the porch. Tami was eight years old when she moved to the Long Beach Peninsula. She lived with her mother and sister Connie, making a close knit group of friends.  She graduated from Ilwaco High School in 1976. She married John Belisle on September 12th 1981. Tami and John were blessed to raise Tami’s niece and nephew Holli (Friddle) Kemmer and Chad Friddle (referred to as their children).

Tami was a proud member of the Chinook Indian Nation, enjoyed garage sales, gardening, collecting vintage local signs and knick knacks. She was passionate about her family, friends, and her community. Tami was a wealth of knowledge about local history. In the 1980’s Tami was an active member in the local adult softball community, playing ball that developed into deep lasting friendships.

Tami was a familiar face to many in the community as she worked for 16-1/2 years at the Bank of Pacific, was co-owner of Sta-Dri Continuous Gutters and worked at Pioneer Market, and the Breakers.  Tami had a special way of connecting with people; she became a friend to so many.

Tami was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy O’Connor, her father Vernon Baker, her sister, Connie (Baker) Friddle, and brother in-law Tommy Friddle.

Tami leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, John Belisle, son and daughter in-law, Chad and Emily Friddle, daughter and soon to be son in-law Holli (Friddle) Kemmer and Daryl Shepard, as well as her grandchildren; Alyssa, Owen, Taylor, Dakota, Jaymi, Carli, and Westin. Tami also leaves behind a community of numerous friends, as well as extended family.

Memorials are requested to the Team Dylan Defeat DIPG Fund at KeyBank in Long Beach.  Her guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
