Robert (Bob) Kundracik of Naselle, Washington departed on eternal patrol December 26, 2022. He was born in Winber, Pa Dec 23, 1934 to Micheal Kundracik and Venora Yaukavic. He grew up Pennsylvania where he attended Catholic School and was very active in sports. Upon graduating High School, he enlisted in the US Navy where he was shipped off to Korea and participated in 3 Korean campaigns. Following the war, he returned to Winder where he realized that the Navy offered him a career he would like. Reentering the Navy, he volunteered for submarine duty and was promptly sent to the USS Razorback SS 394. He also served on the following submarines: USS Wahoo SS 565, USS Charr AGSS 328, USS Ronquil SS 396, USS Tang SS 563, and USS Trout SS 566. After 20 years, he had been stationed in the Pacific Northwest on several occasions and it was also home to his wife, Iola (Tiny) Powers from Salmon, Idaho. They then moved to Yamhill County Oregon and settled in Dayton. He fell in love with farming specifically cattle and bought a bigger farm in Molalla, Or. He also worked as an electrician/mechanic for GAF Corporation and State Farm Insurance. During this time his main passion was fishing and the Columbia River offered all that he desired. He made many a trip to Chinook, Wa where he would camp and fish. Following the death of his wife, Iola (Tiny) he retired from State Farm Insurance in Salem and moved to Naselle Wa, where he has resided for over 25 years becoming an active member of St Mary Catholic Church.
He is survived by his brother Micheal Kundracik of Coopertino, Ca. and 4 step Granchildren: Randy Weston of Carlton, Or; Karen (Weston) Mendonca of Modesto, Ca; Donald (Fredrick) Price of Dayton, Or and Kimberly (Davis) Crider of Yakima, Wa. and his partner in life Georgiana Joyce Thornberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Anne Kundracik, Verna Zak of Tonawanda, NY; brother George Kundracik; his first wife Iola (Tiny)(Powers) Kundracik; step daughters Arlene (Lovely) Davis and Janet (Lovely) Fredrick; step grandchild Jeff Davis.
There was a funeral Mass at St Mary Catholic Church on Friday, 6 Jan 2023 at 11:30. His graveside service will be held Feb 2, 2023, 1300 at Willamette National Cemetery where he will be given full Military Honors.
