Katherine Corcoran, lovingly known as Kathy, departed from this world on January 7, 2024, at the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 30 days. Born on May 8, 1956 in La Jolla, California to parents Gordon and Carlotta (Crawford) Olcott, Kathy embarked on a journey filled with boundless compassion and unwavering devotion.
Throughout her remarkable life, Kathy relished in the joys of motherhood and cherished her beloved children and furry companions with unmatched affection. As a devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising her children — Robert Gordon Allee of Vancouver, WA, Jennifer Michelle Oakes of Longview, WA, Brian Philip Corcoran of Tualatin, OR, Kevin Kappes Corcoran of Eagen, MN, and Meghan Elizabeth Milhiser of Ocean Park, WA. She nurtured their dreams and aspirations with unconditional love, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Yet Kathy's love extended beyond her immediate family. Her home was often filled with the pitter-patter of tiny paws as she welcomed a brood of miniature dachshunds into her life. She not only cared for them but also embraced them as cherished members of her family. Her dedication to these delightful companions led to several AKC Championship honors for some lucky pups. However, it was their role as loyal snuggle buddies that truly brought joy to both Kathy and the dogs alike.
Kathy's kind-hearted nature and radiant spirit touched the lives of many who had the privilege to know her. She attended Ocean Beach Christian Fellowship in Seaview, WA. and really enjoyed the knowledge and teaching of Pastor James Aiken. She also volunteered for a couple of years at the food bank; work which she found very meaningful and which she enjoyed immensely.
In addition to her profound impact on those she loved most dearly, Kathy enjoyed a fruitful partnership with her adoring husband, Patrick Norman Corcoran. Through the highs and lows of life, they stood together as an unwavering support system, creating a haven of love and understanding.
In lieu of flowers, Kathy would welcome contributions to the local animal shelter or the local food bank.
