Jon Jason Pflughaupt was born on January 9th, 1972 and passed away at his home on July 17th, 2024. Jason worked for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for 25 years, the last 22 years of that was at the Bingham Creek Fish Hatchery, just outside of Elma, WA. Jason grew up on the Long Beach Peninsula, where he graduated from Ilwaco High School. He loved to fish and spent a lot of his time fishing the rivers of the Peninsula with his friends and family. After graduating high school Jason was hired by the Fisheries Department and worked in various hatcheries around the state. He eventually ended up at Bingham Creek Hatchery and got married to Heidi. He loved his family and spent most of his time off with family, cooking, barbecuing and sitting by a campfire. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Pflughaupt, children Kaleb and Lana Riggs, sisters Marika Muesegades and Christie Pflughaupt, and brother Jeff Gillette. He will be missed by his family and friends.
