John Miller

October 17, 1957 — July 13, 2024

John Anthony Miller passed away on July 13, 2024 following a boating accident on the Columbia River Bar. John was born in Baker City Oregon on October 17, 1957 to Bill & Iris Miller. At the time of his passing John resided in Kalama, Washington.

John spent his early years living in Baker City, but later moved with his family to Milwaukie Oregon. John graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1976 and during this time enjoyed playing drums in a number of bands in the area.

John was a man of many talents. He started out selling for Leeds and Nordstrom in the years after high school. He later became a hazmat technician, and then joined his brother’s agency selling insurance for a number of years. John then launched his screen-printing business, Promo Press NW. He loved traveling the PNW selling his products. After selling the business in 2017, John semi-retired. He focused on opportunities to support school aged children. He officiated youth and high school sports for 20 years in both Oregon & Washington, including lacrosse, football, basketball, baseball and softball. During this time, he was also a school bus driver in the Tigard-Tualatin and Battle Ground school districts.

John is survived by his wife Connie Miller; sons John Miller (Nicole), Kyle Schroeder (Brandie), Tim Worthington (Dyana) and Kenny Worthington (Julia); his cherished grandchildren Anthony, Aiden, John, Ben, Porter, Shiloh and Ava and a grandbaby soon to make their debut; sister Rita (Robert) Bomber; in-laws Winna and Ernest Griffith; and an abundance of family and friends.

A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later time.
