Grace A. Mack, 90, passed away Sept. 10, 2024, from the complications of age. She was born on May 28, 1934, to Agatha Olga Grace (Berndt) Hansch and Otto Hansch in Longview, WA and raised on her parent's farm in Castle Rock, WA.
She was the Salutatorian in her high school class and received the DAR Citizenship Award, medals for Home Economics and Music, and was president of the Commercial Club. She was active in the St. Paul Lutheran church.
She attended Pacific Lutheran University with a scholarship in music.
Grace married J.W. Mack, Jr. shortly after he returned from work in Alaska and together raised three children: James III, Katherine and Kristina.
Fortune blessed "Nana" Grace with three lovely grandchildren: Augustus, Alexandra, and Shannon Rose.
She is preceded in death by her mother "Grace" (Berndt) Hansch, her stepmother Elsie (Berndt) Hansch, her father Otto Hansch, and a brother Robert.
She is survived by her husband Jim, brother James Hansch, sister Anita Gallow, her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was a past president of the Longview Altrusa International Club, served on the Longview Hospice Board, Member of the Longview Country Club and Longview Community Church. She loved traveling the world and her shopping junkets to Hong Kong, India and Singapore.
A lifelong conservative, she was a woman of high moral character with a strong sense of right and wrong. Truly, a beacon light for her family.
At her request, there will be no memorial except to hold her memory in your heart and remember good times.
