Gaetana Nash

September 29, 1933 — July 13, 2024

Gaetana Turco Nash, the spirited, adventurous woman, started life in Enna Sicily on September 29, 1933. At 6 years old, her family moved to East Africa where she was raised and lived for 20 years.

Her working spirit & smarts landed this beautiful Sicilian woman an office job on the US Army base in Asmara, Africa. There she met the love of her life, who was a sergeant in the US Army Special Forces. Marriage came quick and she was off to the USA to create her legacy as a beloved Mom to Sondra, Wendy & Stephanie, and a dedicated & loving wife to her husband, Les, who preceded her in death in 2021. They had 62 years together!

Her friends called her Tina and she worked hard all her life. She raised her 3 daughters with all the love and support she could give them. Her family meant the world to her and she meant everything to the family. There were many moves while Dad was teaching and coaching and she took it all in stride. Once retirement came, they settled into their home in Weiser, Idaho and enjoyed it very much. Every home she lived in had beautiful gardens and lost of wonderful food.

Always a lady, Gaetana will be remembered by all for her great sense of humor, her amazing Italian accent that never went away, her fun spirit, her hospitality, her amazing Italian cooking, her intelligence, sensibility, compassion, artistry, expert gardening and great love for her family. She will be missed immensely by all of us, including her grandchildren Derek, Brianna, Mirazsa, Lucas, Alyvia, Korbin, Jaxton, Leah, and Isaac. She was our precious jewel and will be in our hearts forever and always!

Gaetana passed away at home on July 13, 2024 with her daughters by her side.
