Eunice Hamlin

Eunice LaVonne Hamlin, born July 21, 1936, in Sanish, North Dakota to Marie and Julius Mikkelsen, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Ocean Park, Washington at the age of 88.

Eunice married the love of her life, Leonard Hamlin, on August 29, 1953, in Holabird, South Dakota. Together, they were blessed with a home full of daughters. Eunice dedicated her life to her family, and she and Leonard raised their children in Vancouver and Battle Ground, Washington, before retiring to Ocean Park in 1998.

Throughout her life, Eunice had a passion for crafts, especially crocheting and ceramics. She found great joy in creating beautiful, handmade treasures, and her work was a reflection of her caring and artistic nature. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Eunice is survived by her sister, JoAnne Birdsong; her daughters Debra Hamrick, Linda Haines, Judith (Peter) Keo, Jane (Corky) Cruzan, and Elissa Cardenas; grandchildren Gary McFarland, Bradley Kyle, Stefanie Hamlin, Rachal Peden, Terese Peden, Emily Peden, Satear Keo, Michael Howser Jr, Amanda Claiborn, Selena Roberts, Kailee Deibert, Jessica Deibert, Olivia Cardenas, Lucas Cardenas, Rachel Ordway and John Ordway; many great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will remember her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard; her parents Marie Camp and Julius Mikkelsen; daughter Donna Hamlin; son-in-law Fernan Cardenas; granddaughter Amy Hoch; brothers Nels, George and Jim Mikkelsen; sisters Pauline Crabtree, Amarylis Lyons, Jean Osgood, Elvera Norby, and Ruby Norby; and too many extended family members. Eunice will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
