Annemarie Huntington, 68, of Long Beach, passed away December 16, 2006 at her home. Born March 10, 1938 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of Michael and Ruth (Holt) Tepedino. She grew up in upstate New York, graduating from Ticonderoga (NY) High School. Musically talented, upon graduating, she pursued a career as a concert violinist. In 1955 she met and married Art Carpenter and together they raised three children. In1957 she moved to Los Angeles and entered the restaurant business and in 1984 fulfilled her dream of opening her own restaurant, Annie's Basket Inn, which she operated until her retirement in 1994. It was at that time she moved to the Peninsula. Annemarie was a music lover, jazz being her favorite. Annemarie was also an avid basketball and ice hockey fan! The most important people in her life were her family. She cherished her animals: Rusty, Zorri, Benney, Rudi and Hootch. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Seaview, WA and was affiliated with the Ocean Park Eagles Auxiliary. Annemarie is survived by children Julie Cardin of Greenbrier, AR, Carrie Carpenter of Long Beach, WA and Michael Carpenter of Atherton, CA; sisters Nina Tepedino of Sebastopol, CA and Julie Armas of Lake Lure, NC; Grandchildren Christina Yanez, David Yanez, Mario Yanez, Jesse Carpenter, Lauren Carpenter, James Carpenter, Samantha Cardin, Michael Routh, Andrew Routh, Great-grandchild Ethan Duffy and best friend throughout life, Phyllis Barnett Smith of Westport, NY. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 2 PM in Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach, WA with Deacon Glenn Cliffton of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Burial followed at the Ilwaco, WA Cemetery. The family has requested that donations be made to the South Pacific County Humane Society (Long Beach, WA), care of Penttila's Chapel by the Sea - P.O.
