Anthony Stoddard

Anthony R. Stoddard, 67, died April 27, 2008 at his Ocean Park residence following a lengthy illness. The son of Henry and Elise (Gies) Stoddard, he was born in New Haven, Connecticut on November 20, 1940. He grew up in nearby Woodbridge, Connecticut where he graduated from high school. He later attended Milford Academy and received a degree from Otterbein College in Ohio. His master's degree was earned at New Haven State College. He taught in secondary schools on the east coast until 1975. He and Judith Pearson were married June 12, 1971 in Darien, Connecticut. In 1975 he enlisted with the United States Army. His service time was spent performing intelligence and personnel work until honorably discharge in 1988 when he moved to Ocean Park. He enjoyed reading and writing and quality time with his family. Besides his wife, Tony is survived by children Marc and Robyn Stoddard of Ocean Park, WA and Elliott and Sara Stoddard of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; brother William Stoddard; and sister Ann Saunders; grandsons Anderson and Deacon Stoddard; and adopted brother and sister-in-law Ron and Jeanie Senior.. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2007, 3:00 PM at Ocean Park Community Church. Concluding graveside service with military honors follows at Ocean Park Cemetery.
