Carolyn Maxine Gilbertson, 67, of Long Beach, passed away March 23, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born March 26, 1939 in Centralia, WA to Warren and Tela (Collings) Stiltner. Early in her life, she moved to Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School. Following that, she attended Green River Community College in Auburn where she obtained her nursing degree. On January 10, 1959 she married Loell Gilbertson, who survives her. Carolyn and Loell lived in Seattle for their entire working carriers where they raised their family. Carolyn worked that entire time as a Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in geriatrics. During this time their favorite vacation spot was the Long Beach Peninsula, picnicking at Beards Hollow. In 2001 they retired and purchased their home in Long Beach. A loving wife and mother, she especially loved doting on her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and playing pull-tabs. In addition to her husband Loell, she is survived by daughter Brenda Marshall of Post Falls, ID; sons Brian Gilbertson of Handover, MD, Bret Gilbertson of Auburn, WA and Brad Gilbertson of Long Beach, WA; brothers Warren Stiltner of Longview, WA and Leroy Wheaton of Lynnwood, WA; sisters Gloria Mansfield of Aberdeen, WA and Jan Gilbertson of Burien, WA; six granddaughters; one step granddaughter; one step grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service was held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Lone Fir Cemetery in Long Beach, with burial following. The family has requested donations your favorite charity in Carolyn's memory.
