Charles L. Lewis, Jr., 74, of Long Beach, died July 10, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1934 in Seattle, WA to Charles and Mildred (Robbins) Lewis. Charles graduated from South Bend, WA High School and then attended Oregon State University. He also served in the military. Alaska Pulp and Lumber in Sitka, AK employed him before his retirement, at which time he moved back to southern Oregon. His life partner of twenty years, Frances Wright preceded him in death last year when he then moved to Long Beach. Charles was an avid crossword puzzle solver, enjoyed golf and traveling. He was a member of the Elks and American Legion. Charles is survived by son Rick Wright of Clatskanie, OR, daughters Martie Steigleder and Tammie Beer, both of Eugene, OR and aunt Kathryn Bunker of Long Beach, WA. A family celebration of Charles' life will be held at a later date. Donations are requested to American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach, WA.
