David Andrews

Life long Peninsula resident David A. Andrews, 51, died November 18, 2007 at his Long Beach residence of natural causes. The son of David and Margaret (Matthews) Andrews, he was born January 26, 1956 in Ilwaco. David grew up in Ocean Park where he attended grade school and went on to graduate from Ilwaco High School. David worked as a commercial fisherman all his working years. He fished the seasons with his uncle Gene Andrews and was particularly adept as a gillnetter. As a youth, he attended Sunday school at Ocean Park Methodist Church. As an Eagle Scout he was able to go to Japan for the World Jamboree. In his spare time David enjoyed hunting, sport and jetty fishing. His happiest days were working outside. David is survived by his brother Dale Andrews; half brother Ronnie Martensen; half sisters Pat Haavisto and Georgia Brewer. David's family and friends will celebrate his life at a later date.
