Ocean Park resident, Donald B. Chance, 75, died March 15, 2007 in Klipsan Beach. He was born November 3, 1931 in Paso Robles, CA to Ridley and Merle (Noyes) Chance. Early on, the family moved to Forest Grove, OR and he graduated from high school there. Mr. Chance joined the Navy in 1951 and served until 1955. He was an electrician by trade, and worked in that field his entire career, retiring in 1996. In 1992 he moved to the Long Beach Peninsula and on May 4, 1995 he married Shirely Netzer. He enjoyed the typical beach activities, clamming, fishing, walks on the beach. He was a member of the Ocean Park Moose and Eagles. Mr. Chance is survived by his wife Shirley; son Douglas Chance of Manzanita, OR; daughters Deborah Frone of Seattle, WA, Denise Mead of St. Helens, OR, De Ann Walter of N. Plains, O; step-daughter Amanda Miljus of Long Beach, WA; sisters Pat Wickershan of Bakersfield, CA and Peg Pascoe of Kennewick, WA; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. At his request, no formal services are to be held. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
