Dennis Denton

Dennis G. Denton, 55, died on Feb. 22, 2008, at his home in Ocean Park. He was born to Gereld and Mary Alice (Mitchell) Denton on April 4, 1952, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He attended schools in Portland and Sandy, Ore., and served in the U.S. Army. On June 7, 1970, he married Debbie Ann Ruple. They divorced. On Jan. 14, 1991, he married Donna Merten. Dennis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a good hearted man who loved his family — they meant everything to him. Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Ocean Park; his sons, Nicholas, Johan and Andrew; daughters, Sharon, Tracy, Shannon, Alison and Katherine; a sister, Susan and eight grandchildren. His parents and a brother preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the LDS church at 1306 N. Washington Avenue in Long Beach. Burial will follow at Ocean Park Cemetery. Remembrances are suggested to a fund set up for his youngest daughter, Katherine Denton, at The Bank of the Pacific.
