Klipsan Beach resident Evelyn J. Mowitch, 80, died November 21, 2007 at her residence. The daughter of Carl V. and Myrtle J. (Fuller) Berg, she was born January 19, 1927 in University Place, Washington. For a number of years Evelyn was head cook at Rocky Bay Health Care Facility near Gig Harbor, WA. After leaving Rocky Bay she retired to Harbor View Manor in nearby Tacoma where she resided for ten years. In 2005 she moved to Klipsan Beach. While at Golden Sands she committed herself to the building of the Wellness Life Trail Park located nearby. A past member of the Gig Harbor Eagles and First Baptist Church of Tacoma, Evelyn was known for her friendship and love toward others and for her faith in Jesus Christ. She always tried to encourage everone that she came into contact with. Evelyn is survived by daughters Patsy Bryant and Arlene LaVigne both of Seaview; brother Leonard Berg and sister Jo-An Samsel both of Craigmont, Idaho. Also surviving are grandchildren Brett Blondell, Leona Barrowman, Faith Baker, Mark Pedal, Jennifer LaVigne, Sam Bryant and Sara Bryant; great-grandchildren Niki Baker and Levi Baker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Carl and Eugene Berg; sisters Vivian Greenman, Lola May Berg and Maxine Anderson; two of her four children—Edward Wisemore and Doris Lobie; and grandchild Jeremy Ward. Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007, 4:00 PM at the chapel of Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor. A reception follows.
