Evelyn K. Ruckman, 90, died February 27, 2007 at her Klipsan Beach, Washington residence. The daughter of William and Dolly (Elvy) LeValley, she was born in Waverly, Washington on August 1, 1916. She grew up on Sandpoint, Idaho and her school years were in Lewiston, Idaho where she graduated from high school in 1934. She attended Lewiston Normal School, now Lewis Clark State College. Evelyn was a resident of Lewiston since childhood. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. A member of Orchards Christian Church, she was a 50 year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and also Beauceant. She had served as president of the Valley Art Association and historian of Chapter BL PEO in Lewiston. Evelyn was a talented artist working primarily in watercolors. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Evelyn and James F. Ruckman were married June 18, 1938 in Reubens, Idaho. They celebrated both their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries with family and friends. Following his death she moved to Ocean Park 6 years ago to be near family. Surviving are daughters Sally Holland and husband Larry of Nahcotta, WA and Jane Ross and husband M. E. of Lewiston, Idaho; grandchildren Emily Unzicoker and husband Maj. Ted, Heidi Schuster and husband Scott; Andrea Wilson and husband Pat, and Ron Harris and wife Patti. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2007, 1:00 PM at Malcolm's Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston. Burial follows at Normal Hill Cemetery.
