Gayle A. Veith, 60, died February 21, 2008 at her Long Beach residence surrounded by the family she loved, of complications from Parkinson's disease. The eldest of 8 children born to James and Ida (Dedmore) Strickland, she was born in Seaside, Oregon on June 30, 1947. She grew-up and was raised in Vancouver, Washington where she graduated from high school. Gayle was a wife, mother and homemaker. After commuting to the coast on weekends from Vancouver for many years, she retired to Long Beach in February 2002. Gayle enjoyed clamming, fishing and cooking and was especially dedicated and close to her family. She was also a devoted and faithful fan of the Green Bay Packers. Gayle is survived by her husband Louis Veith of Long Beach; father Jim Strickland of LaCenter, WA; aunt Dede Dedmore of Washougal, WA; sons David Peterson of Charlotte, NC, Richard Peterson of Washougal, WA and Charles Veith of Kelso, WA; daughters Kristi Fehlig of Olympia, WA and Debra Liane of La Center, WA; grandchildren Kristopher, Ricky, Kenny, Tanya and Lydia Fehlig, Anthony, Gena and Chase Liane, Chaz Veith and Jesse Peterson.
