Jeane G. Leback, 57 died April 6, 2008 at her Vancouver residence following a valiant battle with cancer. Born February 7, 1951 in Astoria, she was the daughter of Melvin and Lucille (Snyder) Leback, residents of Chinook, Washington. Jeane attended Chinook grade school and graduated from Ilwaco High School in 1969. Jeane was a graduate of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She made banking her career. Jeane worked in human resources for both Northwest Bank of Vancouver and US Bank in Portland. She retired due to health in 2006. Jeane was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chinook where she maintained her membership. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel and was a member of a gourmet-cooking club in the Portland-Vancouver area. She also enjoyed staying in touch with friends and family and was particularly close to her nieces and nephews. She is survived by niece and nephew, Claire and Bret Leback, niece and nephew, Stephanie Harmond and Brian Billups and sister and brother in law, Loma and John Billups. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 18, 2008, 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chinook, Washington. A reception will follow. Private committal will be at Ilwaco Cemetery.
