Jo Ann Liebig

Ocean Park resident Jo Anna Marie Liebig, 68, died April 23, 2008 at St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington. The daughter of Steven and Connie Barth, she was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 13, 1939. During her childhood she lived in St. Louis and attended local schools. Following high school she attended a summer of college and then became the wife of Anthony Liebig on February 27, 1960. He preceded her in death in 2004. She continued working as a secretary until her retirement in 1999. After retirement in 1999 the couple settled in Ocean Park. There she continued to collect antiques, rocking horses and watches. She worked for a short time as a financial consultant for a fledging charter school. Other interests included animals, plants, rock collecting and dining out. Every spring she looked forward to the appearance of bears on the Peninsula. Christmas was a special time for Jo as she decorated every nook of her home, even this past Christmas in spite of lingering illness. Time with her daughter and granddaughter were her priority. Survivors include her daughter Beth Liebig and son-in-law Gordon Kero of Warrenton, OR; granddaughter Anna Meyers; step-grandchildren Kassandra Kero, J.D. Wright and his wife and their three children. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 3:30 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Astoria. A dinner follows at her daughter's residence.
