Naselle resident Margie F. Wuorinen, 76, died June 5, 2007 in Warrenton, Oregon following a lengthy battle with cancer. The daughter of Herman and Margie (Pluard) Treichler, she was born August 14, 1930 in Corvallis, Oregon. She grew up in Corvallis and also in Alsea on the coast. She was a graduate of Corvallis High School. Following high school Margie moved to Long Beach to live with her cousin Jim Roberts and his family. She worked as an aide at Ocean View Convalescent Center and met Naselle native Bill Wuorinen. They were married September 16, 1958 in South Bend, Washington and soon after established their residence in Naselle. Margie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, clamming and travels with Bill in their trailer. She also enjoyed making dolls and doll clothes. In past years she was a Cub Scout leader. Margie faithfully attended the Friday Club at Naselle Congregational Church where she enjoyed the comrade and friendships. Besides her husband of 49 years, she is survived by daughter Linda Goguen and husband Ray of Long Beach; sons William Wuorinen of Missoula, Montana and Terrance Wayman of Seattle; sister Aletta Evans of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren Savannah and Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Norma March and brothers Fred, Royston and Albert Treichler. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 9, 2007, 1:00 PM at Peaceful Hill Cemetery, Naselle. Luncheon reception follows at Naselle Congregational Church. The casket will be open Friday, June 8, 10 AM until 5 PM at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
