Olive D. Walker, 86, died April 10, 2008 in Long Beach. She was born June 30, 1921 in Portland and was the youngest and last surviving child of James G. and Amy (Littlehale) Walker. The family lived in Portland and spent summers in Seaview operating Walker's Beacon Cottages until the Depression when they permanently moved to Seaview. Olive was developmentally disabled and resided at home with her parents until her mother's death in 1970. She lived with her sister Edna and husband Nony until 1972. Following surgery for a brain tumor she moved to Ocean View Convalescent Center in Long Beach where she resided until her death. Olive was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Seaview and the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Over the years Olive always enjoyed the excitement of the holidays, family gatherings and outings and beach barbecues. While at Ocean View she participated in ceramics classes and sing-a-longs. Olive is survived by nephews Steve and Nick Gray of Seaview, Christopher Gray of Klipsan Beach, Spike Walker of Seaside, OR, Curtis Walker Jr. of Minneapolis, MN, Randy Walker of Waldport, OR and Rob Walker of Portland; nieces Cheryl Miller of Seaside, OR and Holley Martinez of Houston, TX; grand-nieces and nephews Darren, Lance, Leeann, Ryan and Nichol Gray and Kim Seay. She was preceded in death by her father in 1960, her mother in 1970, her twin brother Robert in 1989, sister Edna and brother Curtis both in 1999. Funeral service will be Friday, April 25, 2008, 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chinook, Washington. A luncheon reception will follow and concluding graveside service and vault interment will be at Ilwaco Cemetery. The casket will be open at the church until 10:45 AM. Prior to the service.
