Mary Ann "Roxie" Archer, 91, of Surfside died peacefully at her home on March 13, 2007. Roxie was born December 26, 1915 in Brookfield, Mo., one of three girls, one brother. In early 1940's she moved to Tri-Cities, WA where in 1949 she married Bob Archer, to whom she was married until his death in 1997. In 1981 Roxie and Bob moved to the Long Beach Peninsula. Here she managed the Surfside Golf Course, the Surfside Inn, and later the Dunes Restaurant in Ocean Park for a short time. For the past seven years, Roxie has been an active volunteer at Ocean Beach Hospital, something that was very important to her. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law William and Marie Berry of Spokane, WA; granddaughter Stacey Anderson, grandson Chad Berry; as well as her daughter Carol Ann Palmer, two granddaughters, one grandson and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her two sisters and brother. A special thanks to all her friends and co-workers in keeping her interests up and contributing to her well being and longevity. A service/reception in honor of her life will be held at Penttila's Chapel on March 31, 2007 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Roxie.
