Rodney Ain Cofer, 45, long time resident of Ocean Park, WA died suddenly on January 27, 2007 at his residence. The son of George and Anna (Boyd) Cofer, he was born September 12, 1961 in Vancouver, WA. He spent his formative years in the Vancouver area and attended school there. He moved to the Long Beach Peninsula in 1981 after high school and began as a food service delivery man here. Shortly thereafter, his mother moved here and opened Granny Annie's Restaurant in Ocean Park. Known as Uncle Rod at the restaurant, he worked there as the manager until his death. He met Dorothy Packard and they were wed on April 25, 1988. Rodney was an avid fisherman and loved hunting, beachcombing and the outdoors. He was extremely fond of his dogs. In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is survived by his mother Anna Thompson of Ocean Park; his sister Brenda Trimbo of Hazel Dale, WA; his brother Andy Cofer of Ridgefield, WA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Rodney's Life will be held at his mother's house, 1308 259th Lane in Ocean Park on Saturday, February 3rd at 12 noon.
