OBITUARY OF RODNEY JAMES DeSERANNO Rodney J. DeSeranno, 56, died June 2, 2007 at his Seaview, Washington residence of cancer. The son of Victor and Evelyn (Wegner) DeSeranno, he was born June 24, 1950 in Portland. He graduated from Parkrose High School and then attended Clark College in Vancouver, WA majoring in engineering. From 1969 until 1973 Rod served in the US Navy. He was stationed at several locations in the United States and following his discharge settled in Vancouver. He began his employment as a mechanic and then became an electrician on tugboats operated by shaver Transportation company. Rod was a Shipwright Union representative and served on the board of directors Of the North West Navigation Federal Credit Union. He had lived in Vancouver for 13 years before moving to Yacolt, WA where he lived 19 years. Realizing his dream to live at the coast, he moved to Seaview in 2005. Rod enjoyed riding his Intruder motorcycle, fishing, crabbing, bowling and golf. He was blessed with the ability to fix literally anything, a skill he shared with neighbors wherever he resided. Rod met Barbara Diane Nelson when he was 16 and they married April 12, 1969. She survives. Also surviving are sons Dennis Perry DeSeranno of Longview, WA, Jason Thomas DeSeranno of Vancouver, WA and Shane Michael DeSeranno of Snohomish, WA; two brothers; 2 half sisters; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and his step-mother Reta DeSeranno of Portland, Celebration of his life will be Sunday, June 24, 2007, 4:00 PM at Safari Campground Lodge in Seaview, WA. Donation to The Prostate Cancer Foundation in Rod's memory is requested. Arrangements are by Pacific Crematory at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach, WA.
