Ruby Jean Hendricks, 73, of Klipsan Beach, WA, died peacefully January 10, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving husband, family and friends at her side. Ruby was born December 20.1933 in Bradleysville, Missouri to Hiram and Alta (Smith) Lewis. She was the youngest of four children. As a child, the family moved to a large strawberry farm near Ridgefield, WA and later moved to Vancouver, WA. She attended school there. In 1966 she married her best friend, Ron Hendricks. She worked as a filler carrier for Pendleton Woolen Mills until her retirement in 1985. In 1996 Ron & Ruby moved to Klipsan Beach where they had maintained a summer home for many years. Ruby loved to cook, entertain, traveling south for the winter, RV camping and being at the beach. She also had a well known passion for shoe shopping and collecting bears. Her best times were with family and friends. Besides her husband Ron, Ruby is survived by daughters Jan Nutter and husband A.C. of Brush Prairie, WA, Patty Fjeldos and husband Warren of Vancouver, WA and son Ron Beebe and his wife Kari of Amboy, WA; sister Maxine Thew of Vancouver, WA; brothers Russell Lewis of Portland, OR and James (Rex) Lewis of Redmond, OR; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks for dear friends Bill & Betty Bayless and Jerold & Peggy Wyatt and everyone else who helped our family through this time. A memorial service will be held January 17, 2007 at 12:30 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver, WA. A reception for family and friends is to follow.
