Robin Holmes

Robin J. Holmes, 62, died December 22, 2007 at her Ocean Park residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 10, 1945 in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the daughter of John and Arletta (Robinson) Arnson. Robin grew up in Lincoln where she graduated from high school and went on the graduate from college with several degrees. Robin lived in California for a number of years. In 1992 while on vacation she visited the Peninsula and never left. Settling in Ocean Park she met Rick Holmes and they were married October 16, 1993 on the Ocean Park beach approach. Robin was employed by the Department of Social and Health Services at their Long Beach office as a financial specialist III. There she enjoyed the friendships and the daily walks with fellow staff members. Robin was a member of both Ocean Park Moose and Eagles lodges. Robin was very much her own person, a free spirit, loved being a home body and took pride in her gardening. She and Rick enjoyed quality time together and also enjoyed their canine companion Harvey and feline companions Liz and Sammy. Besides her husband, Robin is survived by daughter Jessie Andre of Omaha, NB; step-daughters Rachel Holmes of Michigan and Billie Jo Holmes of Tacoma, WA; and three grandchildren.
