Steven D. Moravec, 51, a life long resident of the Peninsula, died December 28, 2007 in Long Beach after a three year battle with a brain tumor. Born December 7, 1956 in Ilwaco, he was the son of Warren and Elsie (Hollinger) Moravec. He attended local schools and Ilwaco High School. Steve commercial fished all his working life. He operated his own vessel and fished out of Ilwaco, Chinook, in California and Alaska. In his spare time Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4x4ing and tinkering on cars. He took pride in being his own man and his family describes him as "one of a kind". Steve is survived by his son Robert Moravec of Battle Ground, WA; brother Dan Moravec of Chinook; sisters Linda Moravec of Aberdeen, WA and Karen McIlroy of Puyallup, WA.
