Long Beach resident William J. "Jeff" Walker, 66, died July 2, 2007 in Seattle. The son of William and Martha (Turner) he was born July 6, 1940 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Jeff graduated with a dental degree from the Ohio State University in 1965 and immediately following served three years with the United States Navy Dental Corps. In 1968 he moved to Long Beach where he established his dental practice, retiring in 1999. Jeff enjoyed traveling and golfing, and just last year while visiting Scotland played at the renowned Saint Andrews Golf Course. He loved original pieces of art and had a great collection. He had just returned from Italy and Russia where he got to see The Hermitage in St. Petersburg. He married and later divorced Sandra M. Kleebe and they were parents of daughters Christine M. West and Michelle R. Walker. Later he married Deborah Venable and she survives, residing in Long Beach. Also surviving are step-children Gena Starr and Jim Venable; sister Karen Hewitt; grandchildren Ashley and Chelan West and Cole Weinstein; step grandchildren Shalina and Mikayla Venable and Dustin and Kristy Starr. Jeff requested that no formal service be held and wished that his legacy be the motto that was his grandfather's: My conscience was my religion; my word was my bond. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday August 12th from 1-4 PM at the Astoria Golf and Country Club in Warrenton, OR.
