Ocean Park resident Bill A. Daniels, 56, died July 28, 2008 in Astoria, Oregon of natural causes. Born April 21, 1954 in Longview, Washington, he was the son of William and Joyce (Judkins) Daniels. Bill grew up in Longview where he graduated from Mark Morris High School and attended Washington State University for a year. Bill worked in retail sales and was currently employed at Sherwin Williams in Warrenton. Duck hunting, fishing, spending time with his numerous grandchildren and traveling with his wife Gen were favorite activities. He had a fantastic way with kids and was heavily involved with youth sports since he was 18 years old. In past years he had fished with his father in Alaska and was involved with Future Farmers of America where he started the artificial breeding program. For over 20 years he served as Babe Ruth baseball state commissioner. Bill was blessed with a huge heart, a love of family and friends, and he will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Bill has been married to Gen Daniels for the past 10 years. Prior to his marriage to Gen he was married to Mitzi Baffunno for 17 years where they shared two children, Jason Daniels and Casey Wyatt (Daniels). In 1973 he married Joanne Romph where they shared two children, Melissa Schonneker(Hayes) and Billie Jo Heckathorn (Haynes). Bill is survived by his wife Gen Daniels of Ocean Park; daughters Casey(Aaron) Wyatt of Longview, Melissa (Marcus) Schonnecker and Billie Jo (Marc) Heckathorn both of Madras, OR; son Jason (Jill) Daniels of Spokane, WA; step-daughters Molly Hamstreet of Vancouver, WA and Mendy Zuern of Tualatin, OR; brothers Dale Daniels of Seattle and Gary Daniels of Longview; sisters Terry Hartly of Battleground, WA, Diana Ford of Seattle and Sandy Lucas of Battleground; grandchildren Rogan and Skye Wyatt, Stephanie Haynes, Alexis and Breann Heckathorn, Treyton and TaRhay Hamstreet, Dalton and Cassidy Schonnecker; aunts Emma Mae Madison and Cheryl Judkins both of Longview; many nieces and nephews and other members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial service will be Saturday, August 2, 2008, 2:00 PM at Faith Family Christian Center (Faith Temple) in Longview with a reception following. Memorials may be made to either Faith Family Christian Center or Babe Ruth Baseball. Arrangements are by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
