Linda L. Whitehead, 66, of Chinook, died suddenly August 3, 2008 at home. Linda was born April 24, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa to Edgar and Beatrice (Sager) Whitehead. The family moved to Enterprise, Alabama and that is where she grew and attended school. Time found her in Portland, OR where she owned and operated several businesses and was later appointed a US bankruptcy trustee. In 1989 she purchased the Tides Restaurant in Long Beach, which she operated until 1995. She then became the manager of the Neptune Theater until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and traveling and was a member of several professional organizations. Linda is survived by longtime companion and best friend Nancy Miller and caregiver and friend Bruce Shelby along with the family she grew to love and accept as her own, parents Garland and Marge Miller, brother and sister-in-law Darrell and Becky Miller, sister Connie Miller and her pride and joy - nephew Shane Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ed Whitehead. A celebration of Linda's life will be held later in September. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
