Donald L. Buhman, 69, of Ocean Park, WA died at a Portland hospital on October 16, 2008. He was born in Camas, WA to Leonard and Eula (Wardlow) Buhman on January 9, 1939. At a early age the family moved to the Long Beach peninsula where Don attended school, graduating from Ilwaco High School. Don had a varied and fascinating life. At 21 years old, he was the youngest tugboat captain on the West Coast. He later was a self taught computer programmer and had taught programming at Coos Bay Community College. For recreation he loved fishing and bird hunting. He is survived by his wife Susan Bothwell, whom he married in 1985. Also surviving at step children Terry Bothwell of Hermiston, OR, Todd Bothwell of Denver, CO, Teri Sue Storms of Bremerton, WA; sons Mark, Chris and Matt Buhman, all of Portland, and a nephew Leonard Brey. Of special mention at nieces Laura Iiams and Tammy Workman for their kind compassion through Don illness. No formal services are planned.
