Barbara L. Smith

Former Peninsula resident Barbara L. Smith, 79, died December 8, 2008 in Olympia, Washington. The daughter of Thomas and Hazel Driscoll, she was born in Portland, Oregon on August 11, 1929. On August 14, 1948 she married Stephen F. Smith. He died in July of 2006. She and her husband retired to the Peninsula in 1999 there they resided prior to moving to Kalispell, Montana Barbara is survived by daughter Cynthia Smith of Olympia, sons Richard Smith of Story, Wyoming and David Smith of Kalisbell, Montana; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Les Driscoll of Ilwaco and sisters Evelyn Lynn of Bakersfield, CA, Lois Kaino of Hammond, OR, Virginia Wilson of Chinook and Beverly Johnson of Ocean Park. Graveside service will be held Friday, December 12, 2008, 11:00 AM at Ilwaco Cemetery. A home going celebration follows at 1:00 PM at Ocean Park Community Church.
