Former Ilwaco resident John A. Meyer, 69, died in December 10, 2008 in Centralia, Washington He was born on September 1, 1939 in Aberdeen, WA to Zenas and Velma (Cook) Meyer. After retiring from the railroad, John and his wife Sharron moved to Ilwaco in 1994. She died in 1998 and John continued residing locally until moving out of the area some years ago. John was the "born again lawn mower" repair man, refurbishing and selling them from his residence in downtown Ilwaco in summers past. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. John is survived by children Jeldi Meyer and Louis Meyer of Vancouver, WA,Velma Slaughter of Logan Sport, IN and Jonny Meyer of Japan; step-children Linda Rita and Nick Everitt of Vancouver, WA, Mary Everitt of Gig Harbor, WA, Christopher Everitt of Drersburg, TN and Brandon Everitt of Longview, WA; twelve grandchildren and ten step-grandchildren.
