Derek Stanley John Leonard

Derek Leonard, 77, died at his Nahcotta residence on February 15, 2009. The son of Derek and Helen (Kipry) Leonard, he was born in Victoria, B.C., Canada on November 12, 1931. In 1972 Derek married Julia Kratz. He was employed as a ship builder and designer and was a professional bowler. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, coins and stamps, and playing golf. Five years ago he moved from Julian, California to Nahcotta. Besides his wife Derek is survived by son Wayne Leonard of California; daughters Keri Rust of Arizona, Linda Hubert, Chris Frye and Lisa Leonard all of Victoria, B.C.; sister Helene Wilson of Victoria, B.C.; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
