Cathy Lynn Greer

Ilwaco resident Cathy L. Greer, 62, died in Ilwaco on February 26, 2009. The daughter of pioneer Ilwaco residents Fed and Nora (Kary) Saunders, she was born August 19, 1946 in Astoria, Oregon. Cathy grew up in Ilwaco where she attended grade school and was a graduate of Ilwaco High School. Cathy attended Clark College in Vancouver and resided in Sandy, Oregon until 8 years ago until she moved back to Ilwaco. Upon returning to Ilwaco she was a caregiver to her grandmother and later to others. Cathy enjoyed reading, dogs, horses, and was a lover of poetry. She and John Greer were married September 19, 1999 in Vancouver. He survives residing at the family home in Ilwaco. Also surviving are her mother Nora Saunders of Klipsan Beach; sons Andrew and Tony Nutter; children Kim Scott and Gwendolyn Rose; step-children John J. Greer and Michelle Teague; 8 grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Ron Saunders. A celebration of Cathy's life will be held Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 1 until 4 PM at her residence, 210 Pearl, Ilwaco. The guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
