Louise M. Sawyer, 78, a former resident of the Long Beach Peninsula, died March 15, 2009 on Lakewood, Washington where she had resided the past month. The daughter of Isaac and Edith (Hudson) Ogle, she was born October 17, 1930 in Camas, Washington. She grew up and received her education in Camas where she graduated from high school. Louise worked at the Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Camas for a number of years. In 1963 she moved to the Peninsula. She was proud to have served as municipal court judge in Long Beach during the 1970s. Louise was an avid, make that a very avid, cribbage player. She also enjoyed the challenges of golf. She enjoyed being a homemaker and took great pride in her cooking and baking skills and was known for her berry pies. Louise enjoyed many friendships, and those friends knew that her door was always open and her heart always trusting. Louise had resided at Golden Sands at Klipsan Beach prior to Lakewood. She and Norvel Sawyer were married May 10, 1948 in Camas. He died in October of 2006. Surviving are a niece Penny Ogle; nephews Joe Ogle and Terry Ritchey. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her brother Merle Ogle. Louise had requested that no service be held.
