Ilwaco resident Paul A. Mailloux, 47, known to many as Maynard, died in Longview, Washington April 1, 2009. Born June 23, 1961 in Tacoma, Washington, he was the son of Frank and Patricia (Covach) Mailloux. Paul attended grade school in Tacoma. When Paul was about 10 years old he moved to the Long Beach Peninsula when his mother married Jack S. Harrell. Paul graduated from Ilwaco High School in 1980. Following high school he attended a culinary school in Seattle. Returning to the Peninsula he cooked at several locations including Chuck's Restaurant and the Chautauqua Lodge. Paul loved his animals. His faithful canine Boxer and cats Sweetie and Orange Cat were constant companions. Paul is survived by step brothers Ron Harrell of Seaview, Bill Harrell of Ephrata, WA and John Harrell of Yakima, WA; numerous cousins and other members of his extended family. His family wishes to acknowledge Miriam Sheaffer for being such a good friend to Paul, in good times and bad.
