Darline Ilda Swaggart

Klipsan Beach resident Darline I. Swaggart, 98, died in Ilwaco on April 26, 2009. Born in Taylorville, Illinois on August 19, 1910 she was the daughter of Jack and Josephine (Fry) Carey. She grew up in Kansas. Darline worked in the banking business as a secretary. She was also a wife, mother and homemaker. In 1981 she moved to the Peninsula where she was a member of Ocean Park Moose, Ocean Park Eagles and in past years of the Order of Eastern Star, having held a statewide office in Washington in that organization. She was a world wide traveler. She cherished her independence and also enjoyed playing Texas hold'em with her friends. Darline is survived by a son Carey Hood of Nahcotta; daughter Donna Huber of Wheatland, Wyoming; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
