Viola E. McBurney, 93, died at her Klipsan Beach residence on May 9, 2009. Born October 13, 1915 in Oakland, California, she was the daughter of Archibald and Carri (Vogelsang) Robertson. Viola lived most of her life in California. There she received her education and graduated from nursing school. During her working years she was employed as a nurse and she also worked for the California Department of Forestry as an observer in fire towers during the fire season. Viola enjoyed hunting and fishing and she and her husband Ross had spent time together commercial fishing in California in years past. She moved to the Peninsula 14 years ago. She enjoyed time with her family and was fortunate to have spent her final years as a resident of Golden Sands where she will be missed by friends and acquaintances. Viola is survived by daughters Velda Park of Healdsburg, California and Judy Clark of Ocean Park; her grandchildren, great and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ross and a son Charles Langsdale. In keeping with Viola's wishes, no service will be held. Memorials may be made to Golden Sands at Klipsan Beach.
