Former Naselle resident Bradley D. Johnson, 55, died recently at his Las Vegas, Nevada residence of natural causes. The son of Iver and Rose Elaine [Nelson] Johnson, he was born in Astoria, Oregon on August 17th 1953. Brad grew up in Naselle where he graduated from Naselle High School in 1971. He attended Lower Columbia College in Longview for two years prior to moving to Oahu, Hawaii. There he attended the University of Hawaii in Honolulu and was employed by the Outrigger Hotel chain. Several years ago Brad relocated to Las Vegas where he continued his work in the hotel industry. Brad was baptized and confirmed in the Naselle Lutheran church. He was an active member in Sunday school and youth group. During his high school years Brad worked for Anna's Flowers and The Appelo Agency where he explored and achieved his artistic talent and honed his people skills. Brad loved Hawaii and the Aloha spirit. Brad had a passion for cooking and prized his collection of cookbooks. He enjoyed entertaining and shared his smile and generosity to all. Brad was fun. Brad is survived by his mother Rose Elaine Johnson of Naselle; nephew Kori Johnson; nieces Jodi Magee and Jaymi Whalen; 3 grand nieces and one grand nephew. He was preceded in death by his father Iver in 2002 and brother Gene in 1980. Graveside rites will be held at Peaceful Hill Cemetery in Naselle on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Cliff Weimer officiating. A reception will follow at Naselle Lutheran Church.
