Tommy L. Crockett, 56, died of natural causes at his Ilwaco residence on August 16, 2009. Born in Arcadia, California on March 25, 1953 he was the son of Merle and A. Charlotte Crockett. The family moved to Sweethome, Oregon where Tommy grew up and received his education. Tommy married Joanne Vos on December 1, 1971 in Coos Bay, Oregon. Seven years ago he settled in Ilwaco, moving there from Anza, California. His employment was as a truck driver. In Ilwaco he met his longtime friend Pamela Curtis . She became his caregiver and later his fiancé. Tommy enjoyed camping, ocean and stream fishing, traveling, spending time with family and friends and working on cars. Most recently he began collecting model cars. Beside his fiancé he is survived by is mother A. Charlotte Crockett of Vancouver, WA; son Jason Crockett of Willow, Alaska; daughter Sarah Crockett-Pellegrin of Portland, Oregon; brothers Merle Crockett of Woodland, WA and Jerry Crockett of Kelso, WA; sisters Georgia Paresa and Carol Phillips both of Vancouver, WA and Marlyn Baxter of Woodland, WA; grandchildren Jakob, Magdalena, Hannah and Jesse; and close friend Steen Howard.
