Ocean Park resident Stanley A. Lindsley, 78, died August 24, 2009 at the U.S. Veterans Medical Center in Portland. The son of Clayton and Anna (Wuis) Lindsley, he was born July 24, 1931 in Cadillac, Michigan. At age 7 he moved with his parents to the Peninsula where he attended local schools. Stanley served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator by local logging and construction companies. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Stan was known as a "fountain of information" on the history of the Peninsula. He married Billie Ray Curtis in 1954 and later married Geneva (Jeanne) Speaker in 1968. Besides his wife Jeanne he is survived by sons Roy, Danny, Clayton and Guy Lindsley; daughters Melinda Watson and Kathy Lindsley; step-children Nancy Pina, Cindy Nicholson, Janice, Wayne and John C. Speaker; brothers Gordon, Clay and Len Lindsley; sister Winnie Zollman; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other members of his extended family.
