Jack A. Gulden, 79, died at his Long Beach residence on September 24, 2009. Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on January 5, 1930, he was the son of Arthur C. and Opal (Mease) Gulden. Early in his youth Jack moved with his family to La Grande, Oregon where he received his education and graduated from high school. In 1950 Jack joined the United States Army where he served for several years. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until honorably discharged June 30, 1972 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Jack moved to the Peninsula 24 years ago. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he took pride in his amply supply of firewood which he cut. He and Nancy Christensen were married March 17, 1989 and she survives residing at the family home in Long Beach. Jack is also survived by his daughter Stephanie Picard; son Christopher Gulden; step-daughters Erica Olson and Kelly Wood; step-son Kenton Drouillard; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; other members of his extended family; and "the boys of 240th Place". Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 11:00 AM at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long beach. Private burial follows at Lone Fir Cemetery, Long Beach.
