Lillymae Heupel, 81, a resident of Ocean Park the past 16 years, died December 20, 2009 in Ilwaco. Born in Rugby, North Dakota on April 21, 1928 she was the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Meisel) Klug. She was raised by Jamestown, North Dakota where she also received her education. Lillymae met Norman Heupel at a Grange dance and they were married in 1949. Residing in Elgin, ND she was a wife, mother and homemaker. She later was employed in Elgin as a secretary and bookkeeper for a petroleum distributor co-op. In 1967 she and Norm moved to Vancouver where Lillymae was employed at Vancouver Plumbing. In 1993 she moved to Ocean Park. She was a member of the local Moose, Eagles and American Legion Auxiliary. Watching football was a favorite pastime and she was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her husband Norm died last month. Surviving are sons Jeffrey Heupel of Long Beach, WA and Rodney Heupel of Vancouver, WA; sister Margie Lengouski of Denver, CO; numerous grandchildren and other members of her extended family.
