Kathryn A. Bunker, 88, died at her Long Beach residence on December 13, 2009. Born in South Bend, Washington on September 10, 1921 she was one of three children, and the only daughter, born to Thomas D. and Bertha Lewis. The family included sons Thomas Lewis and Charles Lewis. The Lewis family was an instrumental part of the lumber industry in the Raymond-South Bend region for a number of years. Kathryn was a graduate of South Bend High School. Kathryn married Ted Hunter who served our nation during World War II and lost his life during combat. Kathryn married Samuel W. Bunker and they resided on the Peninsula after a short time in Alaska. They raised two children, Anne (Bunker) L. Hansen and Thomas (Tad) Daniel Bunker. Kathryn's interests included painting, beach combing, bottle digging and golf. She is survived by her son Thomas Bunker of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter Carrie Anne Wolford; great-grandchildren Kathryn Richard, Whitney Wofford and Lindsay Wofford all of who reside in Long Beach; and grandson Travis Hansen of Vancouver, WA.
