Former Long Beach resident John D. Seaman, 67, died June 13, 2010 in Longview, Washington where he had resided the past 6 years. The son of Norman "Gus" and Fern (Harvey) Seaman, he was born in Dallas, Oregon on October 4, 1942. He grew up in Puyallup, Washington where he received his education and graduated from high school. John served during the Vietnam Conflict as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his military duty he was employed as a carpenter and as a security guard. He resided in the Tacoma/Puyallup area for 13 years before moving the Long Beach were he resided five years, moving to Longview to be near family. John enjoyed staying busy with woodworking, golf and he took particular pride in his 1980 Corvette which was a gift from his son Kevin. Known as a caring and generous soul, John had a big heart and usually had a "great idea" which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends alike. John is survived by his sons Kevin, Keith, David, Tim, James ad Toby Seaman; daughters Angel and Jenny; sister Bessy; brothers Joe and Sam; numerous grandchildren; and other members of his extended family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010, 1:00 PM at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach with a reception following at the chapel.
