Ilwaco resident Evangelina N. Ambriz, 85, died June 16, 2010 in Ilwaco. She was born August 14, 1924 in Guadalajara, Mexico where she resided until she was 22 years of age. At that time she moved to San Diego, California with her mother. Eva resided in San Diego for a number of years before moving to Seattle. In 1990 she moved to the Peninsula to be near family. During her career she was employed as a certified nursing assistant. Eva enjoyed reading with a special interest in novels, crocheting and handwork. She took pride in her gardening and floral designing skills and was especially fond of roses. Eva is survived by her daughter Maria Carter of Long Beach; grandson Nicholas Carter; great-grandchildren Alana and David Carter and niece Lucy Patterson. She is preceded in death by grandson David Carter. Memorial service will be held Friday, June 25, 2010, 3:00 PM at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach with a reception following at the chapel.
