Ocean Park resident Michael L. Rainford, 64, died of natural causes on Juky 18, 2010 at his residence. The son of Donald and Shirley (Carr) Rainford, he was born in Olympia, Washington on January 20, 1946. In his youth he resided in Olympia, Tacoma and Seattle and received his education in the Tumwater school district. In 1964 he married Christiew Webster and they later divorced. Twenty years ago Mike moved to Ocean Park where he bought property and a home with his spouse Barbara Edgbert. Mike was employed in the masonry trade as a stone and tile setter and was known as "one of the best". Mike was a proud member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe where his nickname was "Little Chief" and "One Hung Low". His many friends knew him for his generosity, kind heart and helping hand. He was proud of having over come alcoholism and had been sober the past 30 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting and working on vintage automobiles. He was raised in the Methodist faith. Mike is survived by his spouse Barbara Edgbert of Ocean Park; daughter Suzanne Kneeland of Olympia, WA; step-daughters Marie Lindsey and Gloria Franks both of Woodland, WA, Vera Meyers of Vancouver, WA, Darlene Johnson Grandmond and Randy Johnson both of Ocean Park; brother-in-law Lee Anderson of Olympia, WA; sisters Pamela Anderson and Diane Kramer both of Olympia; nephews Jeff Anderson and Montie Anderson; and his beloved canine companion Jade.
